Oh so as to say. I should I only start cpu mining when there is no blocks found on ASIC after 2 mins of last block?

Hi mate,

Thanks. Am using i7 cpu to mine. Will monitor it.

Btw to derive how many blocks ASIC miners did, have to check their pool to compare right?

Correct.  There is another pool of ASIC, but they only got two blocks per day and my ASIC USB stick was the only miner there.  You only need to check the main ASIC pool to guess what ASIC are getting on NENG.

alight mate thanks so much. ATM still 1 block lol

Thanks for the explaination. Lets say I had found 1 block already and now it has been 1.5 hrs and no block. Difficulty seems the same. Is there some issue or is it normal?

The difficulty has two numbers,  a very low number, almost zero after two minutes, or a high number ASIC miners see, now at 30.   Difficulty is not a fixed number.  ASIC miners do not know this or can not handle this.  PC CPU miners are running full node, a full node is blockchain itself, knows exactly the difficulty of every block.

This is unlikely to happen now for 1.5 hours with no blocks.  I have already coded an alpha version of cheetah, and I am running cheetah in my old linux box (10 years old, 2 core Intel PC).
cheetah will start CPU mining when there is no blocks in 2 minutes.  My PC will find a block  may be 10 to 20 minutes.

I am running my old linux box 24 hours a day.   ;D

Hmm but its really happening for me. now is like 1hr 40 mins no blocks found on my end since last block

had restart my core wallet to try again

Ok cool. We can work both ways towards it :)

I support your coin and started to mine hehe

(can i say somehow you forked a coin (bitcoin /litecoin) to create this coin?)

I forked Litecoin source code to create NENG.  NENG dynamic hashing algorithm was inspired by  Bruce's Marinecoin idea of dynamic hashing algorithm.  The difference is that,
no sensible miners would mine MTC because reward is only 1 MTC per block.   NENG actually is minable coin by both ASIC and CPU miners.   Dynamic hashing algorithm
current version and future version will only restrict ASIC miners,  I do not plan to eliminate ASIC miners.  PC CPU miner can mine NENG now because of this ASIC restriction.

Thanks. What extend are you restricting for ASIC miners?

Thanks for sharing. Is that your own coin?

NewEnglandcoin is decentralized coin so that there is no boss there.

However, I created NENG and I am the dev now on NENG.  In that sense, yes to your question.  :)

Yup. Personally node operation is very idea for me. But for XRP, without incentive is not going to work for investors / public. Perhaps they only target at exchanges and banks whom can earn transaction fees if they are transacting XRP.

Incentivized node operation can be a new age thing compared to mining (less resources, better rewards). Provided the project allows to have recurring income in one way or another.

XRP has hit the 2nd place of coinmarketcap.

Below is an article pertaining XRP vs traditional mining for BTC and ETH.

We shall see how is the future of mining. Understanding when the coin hits cap, the rewards will drop drastically and things need to be improved to feed the miners for mining to go on.

Ironically, with the Guardian nodes project, MTC can be way more decentralized compared to BTC / ETH!

Even if the BP do not go through, there should be some updates on what is going on the road map so that investors will not be disappointed.

Anyway XRP had taken the 2nd place (overtook ETH).

Done some read up on XRP vs Mining

Cloud mining. Beautiful.   Ai cloud mining  sure to get interest in that    LoL
